Our cozy parlors
„Mei, is des schee!“ [in English: “How lovely!”]
Inn culture has a long tradition in Bavaria. We take pride in our „griabige“ [cozy] and more than 100 years old wood parlor. Here the original Karg Weissbier from Murnau tastes just as good as in former times when the beer was delivered by an oxcart in wooden barrels, cooled by ice bars.
Our other rooms are vivid examples of Bavarian hospitality as well: the Fischer parlor, the vine parlor and Kochler parlor with the traditional family altar made out of wood carved embodiments. Gently treated and carefully renovated guest rooms exude the charm of days gone by.
Herzogstand Tapas bavarian style – famous and popular
Since 2005 we serve our original Bavarian snack tapas in Landhotel Herzogstand. We were one of the pioneers to interpret the traditional snack in a modern and creative way and developed the flavor.
Bavarian specialties are served in small portions and can be combined according to your mood.
Since 2018, we have only been offering these popular tapas as part of private events from 25 guests. In the Landhotel Herzogstand there is no restaurant and therefore no à la carte catering. Our house guests can use the Weinstubn and the Fischer-Salettl with a small beverage counter for a cosy get-together.
But: There is a big variety of other restaurants in Kochel am See which are within reach by foot from our hotel. Recommendations are available at our reception or directly from the landlord.
Not to miss: A bavarian beer garden underneath chestnut tree
„If the chestnut tree in the Biergarten blossoms, be happy, you’re on earthquake-proof area.“
The Bavarian comedian Gerhard Polt already knew: As soon as you got a seat in a great beer garden, a lot has to happen to leave it again. The same happens to many of our guests. Nowhere else in the world the Bavarian lifestyle of coziness expresses itself as naturally as in a beer garden – ideally with a chestnut tree. Or even better: with a dense, over 100 years old chestnut tree as ours at Landhotel Herzogstand am Kochelsee. Physical well-being is also provided. The beer garden is always open to our house guests. Bring your own snack and enjoy the Bavarian way of life. What could be better after an eventful day on the Jochberg, Herzogstand or Franz Marc Museum?
Each Friday during summer time: Bavarian Barbecue
Social gathering in our beer garden underneath our big chestnut tree – young and old meet to start the weekend.
Each Friday from May till October at 6 p.m. come rain or come shine the Landhotel Herzogstand works together with Christine Müller and the team from the Party Service Mannheim. Our barbecue offers
- various meat, sausage & seafood fresh from the grill,
- a varied buffet of antipasti and fresh, seasonal salads,
- cool Bavarian beers and selected wines
Our barbecue is very popular – one could say it has become an institution at the Kochelsee. On sunny days a reservation is therefore strongly recommended.
Together with Christine Müller from the Party Service Mannheim we organize irregular seasonal events. Are you interested in organizing an event?
